Finding the ideal location for a date has never been easy but the pandemic has made so much more difficult. This summer, my friends and I created a shared note on phones to create a list of the best date spots in Los Angeles.
Our criteria was (relatively) simple. We wanted to feel safe — with properly spaced out seating and people wearing masks when appropriate — and have a good ambiance. We are also hoping that we would be able to feel relaxed and have a good conversation on the date.
Here are five spots that made to the top of our list:
- Mister O’s – Located in Studio City, this restaurant turned its parking lot into a massive patio with heaters. It’s a great place to grab cocktail and chat. The Juniper Rose is a go-to favorite for me! If things are going well, the restaurant also has an extensive menu. Don’t miss the sweet potato fries with cinnamon ranch dressing.
- Harlowe – This restaurant feels like going back in time. Inspired by the 1930s, you can grab a cocktail at the bar or try a delicious dish off their classics-filled menu. I’m a fan of the shaved Brussel sprouts.
- Alcove Cafe – This is a casual location where you can grab a coffee or sweet. They also of a full menu of food and drinks but the patio is what makes this spot so special. After you finish, make sure to take walk around all the cute shops in Los Feliz.
- The Pub at Golden Road – This brewery is one of the most COVID friendly I’ve been to in LA. There outdoor tables are widely spread apart and you can even play a game of cornhole while you’re there.
- Zinqué – This spot is a great place to grab a glass wine and relax on their patio. With multiple locations across LA, one of their cafes will probably be convenient for you and your date.
